Holster suggestions for a Walther PPS...

I just picked up my shiny new Walther PPS and was looking from some input from others who carry this pistol, what holsters are working best for you?

It seems to be just a tad too big to pocket carry comfortably so IWB is going to be a must. I had seen a nice small of the back holster option (not made by galco) and I cannot seem to find it again.

Has anyone had any particular problems with specific holsters with this weapon?

I depend upon Fist hosters for most of my needs. (See 'Related Links' above.)
I have also grown accustomed to the the Fist #41 IWB/SOB holster with a clip. I now have one for five of my pistols, but I really only carry two...my Kimber Ultra or my Glock-36.

The Fist #41 IWB/SOB is a small of the back holster that does not need to rest on the spine, but rather over the kidney at about 5:00 - 5:30. What make this holster unique is the 'palm out' draw that prevents sweeping the body during the draw. No more of the body is 'swept' than using any other IWB holster.
If you try drawing with your hand and keep the palm out, you'll see the difference immediately.

As far at comfort goes, I seldom even feel the gun or the holster anymore...there seems to be that 'niche' that I have found and it's like forgetting you have your watch on...

Here in FL I usually wear shorts and an open print shirt. I can easily put my hand on my weapon prior to drawing and my preparation can not be distinguished from reaching for my wallet.
"You want my wallet? OK, let me get it for you!"

Others will play on the safety issue, but I have no problems with this type of carry, and now actually prefer it to all the others.
I know several other gentleman who carry the exact same way and swear by it...I have grown to enjoy its comfort.

Stay armed...find your own 'niche'...stay safe!

It is a shame there aren't more choices available for the PPS. I've been using an IWB by Galco, originally made for a G26. So far, I've had pretty good luck with it. I'm still open to other choices, though.

This Fist SOB sounds pretty interesting. I'll have to look into that.

I would think all of the major holster makers would make a holster for the PPS.
However, Fist makes a good holster, and the wait time is about 6-8 weeks. I ordered a #12 for a J-frame last week.

    Regards,
    Jerry

I got my license last week and have been carrying my PPS in a C-TAC. Not small of the back by design, but it's been very comfortable and is highly adjustable.

I have a DM Bullard IWB holster, adn have also ordered a Blade- Tech Ultimate Concealment holster (kydex), but it hasn't arrived yet. The Bullard is all leather with a metal clip. It is a little thick, but comfortable. I am trying the Blade Tech because it looks pretty thin.

I carry mine IWB in a Don Hume H715M No. 36-1"

Great fit for the PPS and it cost less than $30. I have had it in daily use for about a year and it is wearing like iron.

Thanks for all the replies so far, I'm considering the Pocket Grabber from High Noon right now....

    Pocket Grabber

I'm just concerned it will print or be a little too heavy for all day in my pocket.

    PPS Holster

I use a Crossbreed Supertuck or a Comp tac 2 o'clock. Both work great for me.

I just ordered Crossbreed Supertuck and Belt with the velcro kit.

The price was right and the wait seems worth it... we'll see.

The PPS 9mm works really well inside the Thunderwear (TW) aka SmartCarry arrangement. Just test fitted it today and I liked it! I have the "TW" size large since the pockets are not as big or deep as you may think. Anyway, thatís my two-cents.
