    Bulge question?

I just got my Kholster today and have some questions. I think I have found the place the holster is most comfortable, I know it will take wearing to be sure. My only problem is there is a big ol bulge where my gun is. It is a sig 229, I am 5' 11" about 215lbs trying to drop LBS. Is this gun just to big for IWB, or is there something I need to do different in the way I dress. I normally wear jeans and a button up shirt tucked in.

Any suggestions would help me out alot, or if this is something I just need to get used to let me know!!

O and when I say a bulge it looks like I have a baseball in my belt line. I dunno it may just be me. Ill post pics in a bit!!

Does it look weird or is it just me?

I am 6' 1.5" and weigh about 220. I carry my 229 at about 3:00 to slightly in front of my hip. I have a decent amt of cant on it to help hide the butt of the gun. I also have a holster that helps to pull the butt of the gun into my body. I have never tried to tuck a shirt around my 229.

I don't personally think a 229 is that "tuckable" of a gun given it's width. I have a Kahr pm9 and I even thought that was quite obvious when tucked and it is a very small gun that is only .9" wide I think...but that's just me.

What's the problem? If anyone asks, just tell them you have a baseball in your belt line.

Im 5'11 115 pounds and I carry IWB a P226 and P220, so I think its just clothing adjustment, or maybe a cant of the weapon issue or placement. I carry mine just behind the hip with a extreme cant, the grip just behind the kidney. Literally the gun sinks in to my torso, and rests flat against me.
Now is it a tuckable carry option...maybe. It would take a pretty good holster to do it, or a Celpal holster.

I'm about the same height and weight and carry a g 19 Glock under a t shirt. It causes a bulge unless I cant the butt forward so the back edge sticks almost straight up.I've never been made as far as I know. Unless people actually see a gun they don't freak out. most people don't have a clue unless they are another ccw.

Try sliding it behind the hip a bit more, instead of straight on your side. It will force the grip inmore and hold it tighter to your body.

Yea, there's going to be a bulge regardless, if tucked just blouse out your shirt the best you can to help over it, and OWB just wear a loose shirt.
Sheep are in their own world out there and really don't notice much heh

Most don't even notice a few will, maybe ... you are legal, don't sweat it.

I dont mean to seem like a jerk, but its called a Concealed Carry. a buldge is a print, and that gets attention.

I agree that is why I want any suggestions. I moved it back and adjusted the cant and that helped ALOT. I just wonder if I need to dress around the gun!

    You don't seem like a jerk !!!

Yeah, a bulge is a print ... a print of what ? I-pod, cell phone, pager, leatherman, colestomy bag ....
The one thing I learned in over 20 years of daily carrying, is nobody pays attention; I've open carried where legal, people don't even look.

Here in Florida, you are legal as long as you don't expose your weapon (yeah, it is a concealed carry weapon, not firearm) intentionally, you are legal.
As far as being the first target for the BG, I am still waiting to see a reliable source for that happening.

There are a lot more important things to worry about.

+1 on this one. I carry at 4 o' clock for this exact reason.

Yes you do. When I started carrying I had to start shopping differently, slightly larger pants and XXL shirts instead of only XL, etc.

Ok, do you usually carry tucked or untucked?

I have trouble carrying tucked. I can't quite get my shirt to look right, so I usually carry untucked. Maybe I just need more practice. I also carry a little forward of my hip, around the 2:30 position. This positions the gun between my paunch and my love handle, which aids in concealment! Maybe that would help you as well, although from the picture, your gun doesn't seem to affect your silhouette that much. Just remember, you are the only one who even knows you are carrying. What seems like a huge bulge or obvious gunprint to you, no one else will likely ever notice.
