My little spending spree.

I'm picking up my Mil-Spec in the morning, had my local 'smith doing some minor work to it and tomorrow it gets paid for (fit/install an Ed Brown thumb safety, replace the plunger assembly). Also have a Wilson Bulletproof slide stop waiting when it gets home. This will eventually be my new primary carry weapon so it's getting the full treatment.

This morning I hit Brownell's and ordered fresh recoil and firing pin springs and two Wilson #47Ds for carry - my CMC Shooting Stars need fresh springs and base pads so they're now range mags. The coolest part is, I just got off the phone with Gary Brommeland and now have a MaxConV and single mag pouch on order. Life is good!

I still plan on adding a flat MSH and C&S extractor but, provided it doesn't choke in the next 200 to 300 rounds, it should be ready for carry when the new leather gets here. Hopefully I can get it to the range later this week but by next week for sure.

All rather exciting tho eh Jack and it should be one real nice piece at end of day. Of the two items you say you have left to do - I'd certainly think the C&S (or HD Bulletproof even) extractor will be a good addition.

It is amazing how much a new gun really costs if you actually intend on using it.

Nope, no beavertail. I'm planning to bob the hammer spur just enough to get rid of the hammer bite but I like the traditional look - at least for this gun. I've gotten so use to the flat MSH that this arched one feels like it's focusing all the recoil into too small an area of my palm, the extractor replacement is more preventative than actual need at the moment.

I haven't tried Gary's MaxConV yet but in speaking with him we decided that'd be closest to my old Milt Sparks Watch Six. I prefer the offset loops for spreading out the weight.
