Tried them all. From Mika,FIST kydex,Sparks, PCS and for me it comes down to 2. The ever so simple and cheap Nemesis and the king of them all, a Matt Del Fatti pocket holster.

I agree the FIST kydex is very slick but if you need to draw your J frame in a stressfull situation and forget to press the thumb push, the whole setup comes out. I do like the FIST but worry about a panic draw.

Good point. Same concept when choosing a 1911 for ccw, you better practice pushing down that thumb safety or else. Although, I'm sure retsupt99 has done enough practice to not worry about it.

If you ask me, I'm still loyal to Kramer. I'm hoping to someday try the one from Del Fatti....just like any of Matt's line of holsters, I'm sure I won't be dissapointed.

I use a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster for my back-up gun, S&W 642, J-frame. The holster and gun usually in my weak side front pocket, with nothing else in that pocket. No change, keys, etc. It stays upright at all times, and allows for a smooth draw. Drawing from a sitting position is a bit difficult, but then I have my main firearm for that.

One advantage of having a pocket holster, it allows you to take a casual, hand in pocket stance while talking with folks, with your hand on your gun and ready to draw. They have no clue.

I carry at least one re-load, on a Bianchi Speed Strip, in my shirt pocket. Always carry quality SD ammo. Plus-P if your revolver will handle them.

S&W 36 and 642 in Mika Pocket Holster. Great product at a low price!

I had a Mika for my NAA guardian, it was excellent.

I use a RKBA pocket holster. Its leather, stands up right, and it was pretty inexpensive. Great little holster! Used a Mika previously but this works better for me.

+1 on the Mika. I own one with plans to own 3 more. This is the best pocket holster I have for ease of draw and ease of reholstering. Reasonably priced, too.

When concealment is a priority, i.e. when I don't have a good cover garmet or I'm in a sensitive location, I use the Desantis Superfly with its "removable outer flap to further break up the pistol's outline." This is the best pocket holster I've used for concealment, although I haven't tried all the holsters mentioned here. The Superfly is similar to a Nemesis but with stickier material and an additional panel which can be removed.

All 3 holsters mentioned can be used in both left and right-side pockets with no difference in function, in case you change up your carry methods.

    pocket size and cut...

I have been rocking an S&W J frame and it works well in the DeSantis Nemesis. However, I'm noticing a lot more printing with shorts in the summer time, mostly with pockets that have a more diagonal opening. My jeans tend to have more of a horizontal pocket opening and it tucks away nicely.

Are there any suggestions for name-brand clothes that have minimal printing? Do those with wider or deeper pockets work better? I should specify I'm inquiring more towards some of those that are made for concealed carry that aren't mainstream like the Dockers, etc.

It's possible I'm just being paranoid as well.

I use this wallet style holster for my LCP, you can unscrew the back part and use it as a regular pocket holster as well. Works great, conceals perfectly.
