Pure Kustom Enroute
I wanted to post the pic of the holster I ordered for my Father, from Rocky w/ Pure Kustom.
I received a sneak peek from Rocky and could not wait to post it. (Good thing Dad hates computers... LOL.)
Just from the picture, I could not be happier!! I cannot wait to see it in person and give it to Dad for Father's Day. I was going to hold onto it for his birthday but I can't wait that long. LOL.
I will post more pics and further comments when I get it this week.
Oh, I am sure a few are surprised I ordered from Rocky: another holster maker. Well, I wanted something carved and as far as I can tell, I wouldn't want anyone else doing this kind of work to any of my or my family's holsters. Not to mention Rocky is a really good dude, he is the first, as far as I can tell, to take holster making to this level; and I like his personality... we both say it like it is. LOL.
Rocky: Thanks again bro! You're the man!!
I'm sure your dad will love it...it will hold lots of special meaning on several fronts...nice idea.:hand10:
Yeah, my mom's father was an MIA/POW in WWII for two years. Did atleast 4 death marches and escaped the day the war was over. Unreal.....
Also, Dad is a Vietnam Vet and he have/had family friends who were/are MIA/POW from Vietnam...
Thanks for your comment.
Nice choice Silver Wolf. I am sure your father will cherish it.
Hey Dave, nice choice on the holster. That will make a great gift for quite a few reasons. :hand10:
How cool...one custom holstermaker ordering from another!
From one holster maker to another, I was blown away that you asked me to make a holster for you, especially being so personal as a gift for your father. The meaning behind it, makes it even more special.
It's an honor to have made a holster for you and your father. It was also nice making a new friend in the process.
You are gonna get me all teary eyed!!! LOL. Stop it man! LOL.
Seriously, great to befriend you and tell "war stories"...
Best wishes on your new adventures you have on the horizon! That is still TOO killer!
Now I have to create what I want you to make my brother! The wheels are turning...
That is really cool and a great present for your dad.
My problem is I just can't decide which one to order from Rocky.
Rocky is shipping mine monday so it will be there when I get home...I can't wait....
Received it in the mail
I received the holster today!
The artwork is even better in person where the lines/curves of the carving can be felt. There is so much detail I honestly don't know how he has the patience to do such.
The fit of the gun is terrific. I don't think Dad will have any break-in time.
The finish is clean and very smooth. The boning on the back is exceptional and the stitching is terrific.
The only down was a smidgen of glue on the inside that I got out in the first five minutes of testing it for Dad!
I laid it down, next to my holster from Andy w/ Horseshoe Leather Products, and I have to say the quality of work is almost identical. And the quality of leather is the same. That is what first drew me to Andy's work...
Ironically, Rocky has been building holsters for less than a year now??
So for those who are skeptical, I wouldn't worry... the holster is worth the price you pay.
Sorry no pics. My wife has our camera on vacation w/ her...
Thanks again Rocky!!!
Cool...my holster shipped the same time yours did and I still haven't got it...isn't arkansas closer to AZ than Florida???? I can't wait...Rocky called me this evening to see if I liked it.... I can't wait....
You will like it.
I am VERY impressed w/ Rocky. We spent about 2hours talking tonight and he is a GREAT guy and I really like his work.
I wish my stuff, at 6 months of business, looked THAT good and was that well made, so to speak. At 6 months, I was still hand stitching. LOL.
Seriously, I am positive you will be happy. I am proud to be another maker that supports Rocky.
thanks Dave...Rocky is a heckuva guy....really believes in customer service...I am telling everybody I know about him...I really want him to make it big....I told him he better not forget us little guys when he gets big!!! :) I think he said my holster was # 88...that is cool...I plan on getting another one for my glock whent the funds permit....
