Why not use the CC holster?
I take my Kimber Ultra (in an IWB Fist #1A) off with a flick of the clip and set it on my nightstand.

If you don't want to use your CC holster for storage then stop by your local gun shop and see if they have a used holster bin. great deals can be had if you rummage around a bit. I got a nice Bianchi kydex holster for $5

I've seen guns ruined by storing them in leather for long periods of time.

what do you recommend then? I dont want to store it just in a drawer.
And for leaving it in a glove box, I dont want the kydex to heat up.

leather tends to attract and hold moisture on your gun. Kydex needs to get fairly hot to warp or deform.

Tends to retain moisture and hold it against the gun which can and will lead to rust. Also some chemicals used to stain or cure the holsters may damage the finish of the gun.

Mine is in a fanny pack beside the bed. If I did not do that I would leave it on the night stand unholstered. I don't have children at home.

I'd second the Uncle Mike's Holster. That's really all their good for. Bedside holster or maybe a truck holster. I'm sure somebody has one they don't use that they'd sell ya cheap.
