Anyone have first hand experience with the above named holster?? Im considering one for my G22 and springfield operator while I wait for my TT gunleather gear to arrive. Id really like to see a few actual pics of the Enforcer as well as the H721 OT with 1911s in them as well if you guys have any.
I haven't tried the Don Hume 722, but I like them so much for the price that I have two Agent 711 holsters. It looks like the 722 will ride about the same, and I'll try to get a picture for you today.
I carry either an officer's 3.5-inch 1911 or a full-size 1911 at about 4:30 and have no problems concealing as these holsters hold the butt of the gun close to my side. The 722 may actually have less propensity to print because of the loop design. The only drawback I can see with the 722 is there will be slightly less flexibility in placement (wider slot = less room for adjustment between belt loops), and it may be harder to thread on the belt as I have to do in the car at times.
Some pictures this morning before heading out the door. Belt is a Galco 1.5 inch, double-layer. One thing to note is how high the 711 rides, and I expect the 722 is about the same. I have an old shoulder injury, which sometimes makes the draw a bit difficult. I also wish the 711 had about 3-5 degrees less cant, as with my injury I can't quite get a full combat grip before the gun starts out of the holster (the heel of my hand won't quite settle to the butt of the pistol, but I have an adequate grip nonetheless).
This is a stock photo of a SIG in a Don Hume 721 OT.
I carry a Glock 27 in my 721 OT and can say it is a very comfortable and stable holster when worn with a 1/1/2" reinforced belt. The 721 rides very flat against my body since the belt loops are spread out on the sides. I do not like an IWB holster and wear this one year round, even covering it up with a golf or dark tee shirt.
If you get the H722, post how you like it. I have considered a different holster with a thumb snap as I like to open carry and would feel more secure with some type of retension that could prevent a "snatch & grab".
For an off the shelf product, Don Hume is hard to beat and they are priced right.
well guys, I opted for the 722 enforcer. Gunners alley did have one in stock so I have to wait for don hume to send them one. neither gunners or hume had the open top model instock so that would have been a 6 week wait.
just a quick update, holster was suppose to be in last saturday but I didnt get confirmation that it shipped till yesterday and per the tracking info I should be in tomorrow. so ill post up after it comes in
I bought a like NEW Don Hume H722 online a while back for $25. Was told it was originally made for an H&K P2000, but with a Slight reset of the thumb tab snap it fit my BTA 90 like a glove. REALLY pleased with it.
I like the holster, have one for 2 different guns .... like how it rides, etc. and works well.
