What IWB is best for 1911

Hey guys, I just joined this forum. I'm on other forums and found their concealed carry sub-forum to be a little lacking. My question is, I've picked up a Dan Wesson Commmander Bobtail recently, and I'd like to get a IWB setup. I've been looking at everything I can find, and there's alot of manufacturers out there. At first I was leaning toward the Milt Sparks VM 2, but I have since seen so many that are nearly identacle. Just to name a few- Side Guard, UBG, etc, etc.

I need some opinions to help sort it all out. Also, what is the diference in a VM 2 style and a Crossbreed style as far as feel is concerned. I am always on the run, and this holster would need to feel as comfortable on me in the car as it would standing. The Crossbreed lokks like it would be comfy with the patch of leather covering shielding your body from all the 'hardware,' but would it feel bulky when sitting?

I'm sure this subject has been worked over before, but I do greatly appreciate the help!! Thanks

If your wanting a kydex/crossbreed style holsters I'd suggest getting a Welcome to Bluegrass Hybrid Holsters. Much more comfortable and well made IMO also you can change out the kydex shells to accomadate other guns & it's less expensive tgan both the Comp-Tac & the crossbreed.

If it's all leather your looking for then here's my shortlist in order of personal favorites & I can claim that since I have work from each of them.

K&D Holsters. I have the Thunderbird
HBE Specialty leatherworks. I have a Com 3
Milt Sparks. I have the summer special

First things first, Welcome to the forum.

You might start with a Crossbreed or MTAC style due to quick delivery time. The advantage of the MTAC is the ability to change the kydex half shells for many different guns.

Then you can take your time, research and order the custom holster you really want.

I have found that the Sparks Executives Companion is by far the best for me.
The thought that the loops over the holster body is too much bulk is not correct. However, the extra leather skirt make is much more comfortable.

    The workmanship is beautiful also.

HBE Specialty Leatherworks COM III. THE best IWB for a 1911 or BHP IMO.

For a Commander sized 1911, I want a stable platform from which to draw. Look for something with 2 clips or attachments, one on each side of the gun so the weight is distributed evenly. I use a K&D Dakota Defender, Milt Sparks VM2, MTAC and HBE COM3. All 4 are excellent choices and will serve you well.

I've been using Brommeland Leather for the last few years with my 1911 and G19. Good quality and very comfortable.

For IWB use, I use two holsters for my Kimber 1911s:
    1) Crossbreed Supertuck
    2) Milt Sparks VM-II

Welcome! I've got a DW CBOB and use a Crossbreed Super Tuck. Ditto on needing a holster with 2 points to connect to the belt. The other good thing about the Crossbreed (and I presume others like it) is that it fits my 5" Springfield MilSpec and 3" Kimber as well.

So, compare thew 2 for me?

Right now, I am split between a VM 2 and a Crossbreed. If I go the route of a VM 2 style, I don't know how much I like the idea of the belt loops and may decide on a different maker that offers that style with belt clips(HBE Leatherworks or UBG Holsters). Give me your opinion of the 'loops.'

Also, how does the comfort compare between the two? When I look at the crossbreed, it doesn't look like it could be very comfortable, but everything i have read says otherwise.
