I'm not really fat but I do have a gut. I have to say I find my pants seem to fall down a bit more now with out my IWB holster. As well I feel like my draw speed is a lot slower. Did I just waste $66 or do I just need to go for a run more often now
I carry a 5" 1911A1 with my Smartcarry and have the same problem as you do. The safety pokes me when I sit. Someone suggested I move it to the 11 o'clock position. That made a huge difference. When I sit, the barrel sits on top of my thigh and I can go to the restroom a lot easier. The safety still pokes me a little but if I get rid of the gut, I think that will be allright.
    I ain't what I otta be, I ain't what I wanta be, I ain't what I could be,

But thank God, I ain't what I used to be,
And, Praise God, I ain't what I'm gonna be!

For my CZ RAMI I now have 5 holsters:

    Smartcarry
    Crossbreed Supertuck IWB
High Noon OWB (for CZ-75 but fits RAMI well)
Glaco Ankle Holster (for G26 but fits RAMI well)
    Desantis Pocket Holster

Of the 5, the smartcarry is my favorite for deep concealment. The draw is slower but it is very comfortable if you wear it low enough and somewhat off-center.
