Newb looking for an OWB solution

    Hey there

    1st post

I've spent a few weeks looking for an OWB Solution for my Sig P226R BWTAC.

I'm looking for something along the lines of a Bruce Nelson Professional.

I've come across the Milt Sparks NLG, I don't know how long the wait for one of those would be but their ordering period is due to open for a brief period in a couple of days.

I've also come across the Combat Gunleather Holster #1 which looks to be right along the lines of what I'm looking for. I haven't heard back from them so I don't know how long their wait is.

I plan on getting a proper belt and mag pouches to go along with the holster.

Is there anything else I should be looking at and does anyone have any idea what kind of wait goes along the the selections above.

I'd really prefer not to have to buy an alternative to use in the meantime but I may just have to suck it up.

    Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum. Milt Sparks is quoting 20-26 weeks now, and if you want the thin laminated construction of the NLG then you'll have to go with them.

If you're looking for a standard Nelson type holster, there are several good options. I'm a fan of John Ralston at 5 Shot Leather 5 Shot Leather, LLC - Home 5shotleather He makes a great version of the Nelson Professional, both in standard format and with a rear snap loop. Eric at HBE H.B.E. Specialty LeatherWorks has also gotten good reviews for his rendition of that model. Both will probably have shorter delivery times than Sparks.

I'm sure others will chime in with more suggestions for you. Good luck.

I'll put in a second for HBE. I recieved a BN type holster, belt and mag pouch from Eric a few months back. Great holster and his turnaround times are pretty quick these days.
