Old style Leather holster for 1911

    Hi, All:
Is there anyone but El Paso making nice plain old non concealed carry holsters for 1911s and S&W Revolvers? I am trying to find a maker that still makes a good quality Holster, maybe in basket weave stamped, or floral carved, in good leather. Dosn't anyone carry a pistol in the woods, hunting, or plinking without concealing it anymore? All the many, many, makers that I have checked on have absoulety no offerings to people that want a nice holster, for one not wanting a concealed, police, type holster.
    Thanks.
    Chubbo

    Post Rankin Saddlery

Yep, these are super nice. Fully carved. Not cheap though but, they look pretty nice.
I've never actually seen his physical work first hand though.

Scroll down the page and click on the thumbnail photos.

    Ltd. Edition Leather

Oh...what da heck I'll swipe one of his photos and post it here since I'm promoting his site and his work to 30,000+ gun toting members. I'm sure that he won't mind.

Bob Mernickle. One of his 1911 rigs is on evilbay right now, but he makes even better-looking ones to order.

    Western gun leather holsters

Check these guys out. I have a belt slide with nice basket weaving made by them but unlisted on the website - so be sure to ask for what you want, I know they offer more than depicted.

Are you looking for a flap, (covered holster), a strap closure, or an open top?
That ltd looks very nice. The second picture looks home made but still very nice.

The second picture is homemade. I make these on occasion for myself.

Nice. I was guessing it was a personal creation because the leather is nice and thick and someone took the time to paint the edges.
