I promised you before that I will be buying a holster from you and I will. I have completely out-processed the Army last week and will be retired 1 Dec. We are moving to TN end of this month and as soon as I get settled and land a job you are my first personnel expense.

Thanks for posting all the beautiful works of arts that you create.
Thanks Dal1Celt, I really appreciate it. Congrats on your retirement and Thank you for your service. Just let me know , when your ready.

    Rocky,

    YES

I opted for the candy black cherry based on your description, now seeing the pictures I have no doubt I made the correct decision.

    Thanks Again

Hey Guys, For those of you waiting for your Black cherry from Rocky, HA!!! Got mine yesterday!! I took her out in the sun as soon as I opened the box, MAN she has a very deep glow like a dark cherry, duh. Not only is the color different and awesome, the workmanship is over the top. This is a VERY comfortable rig. I don't care how good a holster looks, how well stitched, if it ain't comfortable it doesn't get used. This holster will get used! It is so adjustable you will be able to find that sweet spot. My commander seemed to draw very tight to my side unobserved with a loose shirt. I'm a big guy and this holster allowed me to hide my pitola even at 3:00. I'll write more as I break her in . P.S. waiting on a beltman in 1.5. more later

Sorry, waste of time and $$$ IMO. My holster is needed to not only carry my weapon, but to protect it as well. It takes the hits so my gun doesn't. Therefore, it's gonna get scratched up and worn doing its duty. It's usually under my shirt and will seldom even be seen by anyone but my family. All I need is good black leather or Kydex. Leave the fancy finishes and skins to the showoffs. No offense intended.

Looks good, but I tend to prefer just solid black on my CC rigs. Color isn't that important on something that isn't meant to be seen. I reckon that's why I never have paid extra for exotic skins. Just my .02

Gee, how could anyone be offended by that? [/sarcasm]

TBH, I think you're being a bit harsh. The Black Ops is a well crafted working tool, that in this case happens to have a special finish (if you've checked any of Rocky's threads on his painted work, even the truly "fancy" pieces, they hold up admirably). Add to that the fact that is is quite concealable, very adjustable and will probably last a lifetime, and your comments ring truly hollow.

BTW, I don't even have one of these yet (Michigan's economy has severely cut my "holster budget"), but I certainly will in the future. For now, my #1 holster for my 1911's is a horsehide/shark trimmed Versa Max 2 (It gets seen only by me, does that make me a "show off"?). But I still appreciate it's beauty (and it doesn't get babied, but it still also looks fantastic).

If you like basic, fine. No reason to insult craftsmen who go beyond basic or those who buy from them though. I think your opinion could easily have been stated in a more diplomatic way.
    Regards, T Bone.

    Great looking holster!

As for the proper use of fancy equipment, there is always OC.

I have just contacted Rocky about doing a new rig for my newly acquired P228 and I look forward to doing business with him.

Rocky will not disappoint that's for sure. I got to come up with some ideas for a custom holster for my 1911
