Good idea. You could take some emery paper or sandpaper, wrap it over your finger and work on the edges and buff out the nicks and even round the edges and curves a bit. I have been experimenting with Kydex but haven't built anything, just cleaned up some other people's work.

I did this to tighten a 'purchased' kydex holster and was surprised how easy it was to do...

To the OP...Nice effort...I've never tried making something from scratch...keep experimenting.

Nice, but looks AOW-ish. Be careful.

I hadn't even considered that, but smart to keep in mind. There's no way you could pull the trigger while it's in the holster -- the opposite side of the holster has no cutout as the thumb side does. As far as I can tell, that means I'm in the clear. To get in trouble, you have to have a holster that allows you to operate the gun with the gun still in the holster. Thanks for the pointer, though!

Back again - this time on a different computer. I see now that your original photo was plenty good: my temporary monitor was at fault. But I also liked your followup photos!

You can also use a propane torch for spot heating. Do it gently, though, as cautioned by cj... and even mild overheating will make that part of the Kydex much shinier than the untouched parts. It works, but screams "noob" (at least mine does). However, since mine is IWB not too many people are inspecting it.

Might I suggest you make/buy a separate spare mag carrier for your off-side pocket?

I never understood keeping a spare mag on your shooting-hand side - if you need to reload, you will be using your support hand, so the mag should be on that side of your body.

I had FIST make one up for my back left pocket, back when I pocket carried a PM9. Abetterholster also has one, that carries two single stack mags.

    Just a thought...
The more good folks carry guns, the fewer shots the crazies can get off.
