    Opinions and advice request.

I'm new to the forum but have been researching many sites about concealed carry. I feel now that I will very likely opt for a Glock 33 (compact 357 SIG) for its power and size. We travel (RV) quite a bit and I mostly want personal protection in the coach but also want the ability to carry.

My real question comes from "lifestyle".

We live in Florida and, to tell the truth, I don't really own any long pants! My lifestyle wardrobe is about 95% draw-string shorts, a t-shirt and flip-flops. Given that info, give me your advice and opinions on my weapon choice and how "you would carry".

    Welcome to the forum.

Sounds like you may need a small gun and pocket carrry.

If you wear shorts that accept a belt you can conceal any gun with a good holster, if not, pocket carry with a small gun is your best choice as noted by the above poster.
You must lead quite the enjoyable life !

The Smartcarry is an option with draw-string shorts. I use that if I need to carry with sweat pants.

I'll second that opinion. I think that would be the way to go. The G33 sounds nice, but you might be able to carry the G32 just as well.

By the way....welcome to the forum!

If you are not familiar with Smartcarry I suggest that you Google the site and familiarize yourself with the product. I often use a SC to carry concealed when I wear drawstring shorts or sweats and it works quite well for me. The SC is quite flexible and will accomodate a variety of gun sizes quite well. Given the OP's situation it sounds like a viable choice.

Agree with the SmartCarry. I often use mine around the house when I'm wearing exercise pants with a drawstring, or shorts with an elastic band.

You won't have to change your dress mode much, if at all, if you use the SmartCarry.

As long as you wear a sturdy belt, pretty much any IWB holster/gun combo should work. Kahr's are very compact and potent.

If wearing a belt is not going to work out for you, consider a fanny pack. The weapon is harder to get at, but you will look just like any other tourist in Florida. If at all possiable, wear a good belt and a good custom leather holster.

With your wardrobe SmartCarry or a fanny pack is the only way to go.

My guess is that due to travel, you will learn how to wear pants in a hurry; It's getting cold out there!

With that said, you will have more options regarding carry, but if you stick with what you know (drawstrings, etc.), then I recommend SmartCarry.

If I can conceal a G30 (FAT-body compact .45) in one, you should have no issues with a G33.

Their customer service is top shelf too.

I successfully pocket carried an XD9sc for an entire summer wearing draw string shorts from Walmart last summer. They weren't nylon shorts but regular cotton blend. No belt loops. They had elastic in the waistband on back side around to the kidney area and then a draw string.

Looked just like I had a wallet in my front pocket.

    from Central Florida!

I have various IWB holsters from Fist holsters. For years I have been using these...

    ...or sometimes this...

I have since changed from IWB to OWB and now I use this...

...and I have just ordered this, and we'll see how it works.
