Great New Holster for my PM9: Pumping my Fist!

Picked up a Fist #1AK (IWB canted ulta thin kydex with clip) as part of a purchase. I did NOT expect to like this holster at all. My experience has been with leather, which i like; I like the feel, the look, and even the smell of cow and horse hide. I figured kydex to be unsightly, uncomfortable, and wearing on the finish of the firearm. My preconceived notions of kydex, at least in the case of this particular Fist holster, were all wrong.

The Kydex on this holster is super thin (see picture). The girth of the pm9 feels no different tucked into 4 o'clock with or without the holster...the ultra thin kydex material is that thin! The clip is very secure. The holster does not rock or slide after being placed into position.

The draw is silky smooth; my pm9 slides in and out of the holster with an audible "snap". Retention is fantastic. Reholstering the firearm is easy since the ultra thin kydex material prevents the mouth of the holster from flattening. The feel of holstering kydex as opposed to leather is unique...and dare i say a little more fun.

I have found the Fist #1AK to be very comfortable to wear; more so, i believe, than the milt sparks watch six that previously garaged my Kahr. Taking away the two snap loops on either of the holster simplify the design and greatly decrease the size of the overall package. I realize that double loops help to stabilize the firearm, but with many subcompacts they can be viewed as overkill.

Very happy with my new setup. I feel the pm9 and Fist #1AK are a great combo and may be a good solution for those searching for a new EDC setup. I need to pick up a black wilderness 5stitch to replace my old....yup, leather...gun belt.

The FIST ultra thin kydex is very nice and super comfortable. I've got a couple of K5s and a K4A myself. I agree that with a PM9 and other small pistols, a one clip setup works very well. I also have a velcro clip on my tuckable K4A for the ultimate in IWB concealment. Maybe there's a 1AK in my future too.

The ultra thin seems a little flimsy to me. I always order my FIST kydex holsters with the "Thin" kydex. Holds up a little better. FIST makes some great kydex as well as leather!

What I did with one of the K5s and a K4A is have it (the ultra thin kydex) covered with ultrasuede. It doesn't add to the thickness too much and helps with retention. I don't notice anything being flimsy either. The lady (super nice) at FIST said that it will also help longtermwise with delaying any possible cracking which is normal with kydex over the years. It looks and feels cool too.

FIST has a bunch of options for their holsters to customize what you want and the pricing is very reasonable. I'm a believer, can you tell?

Retsup will be along shortly, what with this being a Fist holster thread and all. :)

I have used thier thin kydex in an iwb before and it makes for a wondefully thin holster.

Congrats on the holster. I'm gonna look into the Fist line for my G36.

That is a great looking holster. I didn't know you could make kydex that thin... Fist is a 1st class holster maker...

This week I ordered a #5K pocket holster for my PM9 with the CT 437. When I ordered, I noticed that Fist is on Jay Street in Brooklyn; I guess that from now on BklynBoy will have to get all his holsters there

    Here you are, ExactlyMyPoint:

    FIST, INC.

The website needs revamping...not very user friendly. The kydex model is
    #1AK.

    Take care!

I have been touting this holster for years. The only thing I added was the Body Shield for an extra $5.00.

( It is the safest way to carry Mexican style.) There is no worry as to the thickness of the ultra thin kydex. Mine has been in use for four years with zero problems.

FISK will set the cant to 15 degrees so you can carry it at any other location. I use the appendix and couldn't be happier
