Does anyone not like the Versa Max II
I just picked up a Versa Max II for my new Hi Power and I am completely impressed with it. The gun carries easier than the current IWB set up I have for my J Frame and that is a Galco Summer Comfort. I know the cost is high but aside from this is there anyone who does not like this holster. This is like a godsend for carrying large guns. I also have a Belt Man which I am sure helps greatly as well.
As reluctant as I was to get quality leather in the past I dont know why people dont fork out and get some good stuff. Granted there are a ton of options out there and there are for sure some equal options to the Milt Sparks for less money but thing works bar none.

Nope, everybody loves them. If they don't, they should!
I've got one for every model handgun I own.

OK, I'll be the first one to admit it. I don't like the VM II. I've owned 2 and tried really hard to like them but they are not for me. They were well built and well designed but I prefer a non-reinforced mouth like the Watch Six. I bought a Desbien IWB from a member here that is very similar in design to the Max Con V that I like a lot. It sits deep and with a bit more cant than the Watch Six. So far, that is my favorite IWB.

I had three myself for various handguns and also didn't care for them over the other holsters that I have. I could never get it comfortably adjusted, especially when I was sitting for a while (driving). They were very well made but just not for me. All three sold easily for what I had in them though.

Hey Y'all: It really amazes me, with literally hundreds of holster mfgrs out there (just look at the lists that forums provide), threads continually "hype" a holster. I guess posters like to feel good about their purchase and share it with others but almost every thread has its pro and con replies. The best advice you can really give someone, who is looking for a new holster, is your opinion coupled with a website, a cost, and a return policy. Other repliers are helpful but usually are all over the map; most importantly is the fact that all the comments are personal and therein lies the problem--everyone has a different body, a different weapon, a different take on what is important etc etc.

I prefer traditional IWB holsters with the loops on the holster body. I carry on the point of my hip or just behind, which with a wide set holster puts the front loop above my front pocket which I don't like. The rear loop tends to interfere with my grip, too. What I've surmised is that if one carries more towards the rear they work better. I also tend to carry lighter guns, so I have no problem with stability with a regular IWB. As usual, the answer comes down to what works for you.

I had a VM II for my G27 and sold it. I did not like the reinforced mouth and the thickness of the holster. It's not that I didn't like it, it just didn't fit my specs. The holster game is very much an each to his own and whatever works for you kind of game.
I now have a presentation grade Brommeland Max Con V that I really like because it rides low and is ultra thin.
I think a reinforced mouth is overrated and a quality leather crafted holster stays open for reholstering.

They are a well made holster..they ride a little to high for my preference..still have one for my g27 which I still use in wintertime when wearing a coat...summertime it doesn't conceal as well as my ctac in a tee shirt....

From the replies so far, I believe I made my point. If you like a holster, it is a given when you post---put more info out there for others to do their due diligence on YOUR choice for an Academy Award.

I'm not big on re-enforced mouths either for IWBs...a friend of mine had the VM2 for his P7 and he didn't like it....he said the muzzle kept digging into his hip..some extra leather under the muzzle would be a good option...

Business for them must have picked up a lot, because they have hired a new apprentice and have the quota cut off to try and keep delivery time around 22 to 26 weeks, but I've been waiting 30 weeks now. I don't like for something that I order to be that far off from a quoted time. The last one's that I ordered I got in about 27 weeks. I have since ordered another holster. I am going to sell which ever one that don't like the best. The last 2 that I bought took a lot of break in time with the pistols and the belt loops wrapped in plastic they were so tight. They are comfortable holster to wear though.

Try Lightning Arms Sports. I bought a VMII for my EMP and one for my G19 from them. The EMP was in stock (3" 1911) and the G19 (G19/23) took a couple of weeks, but they emailed me when it was available. Great folks to deal with. They either have them in stock or get a steady pipeline from Milt Sparks.
I find both very comfortable and concealable, and usually pair them with a Beltman belt.
Clinging to guns and God in PA...

Well, I had one for my Colt Defender. I had ordered a K&D Dakota defender to use while I waited for my VM-II's arrival. Once it arrived I compared it with my K&D and for me, the K&D won in both fit & comfort, and was easily at least equal in quality. Ended up selling my VMII for below what I paid for it.
