    New to Carry

Hi - I am a newbie to guns and carry. Have a Taurus slim PT709 - am trying to find a good holster to carry outside the belt - is that OW? Additionally, am trying to find a good shoulder holster for it. Am short, and over weight! So, it needs to ride NOT on hip area!
    Thanks in advance.

    Welcome from Texas!
Finding a shoulder holster may be hard, since it's a new model. The nylon ones are not too good. Try High Noon holsters, they have a laminate leather one that may work for you. Oh, outside waist band is OWB... inside, would be IWB...

Hey bcardin: In just a few replies you have opinions and suggestions galore. I hope you appreciate that some of them are well-intentioned and some of them can easily be classic internet marketing with multiple email addresses and sites. Take this advice as informative but with a grain of salt. A holster is personal and YOU must do your due diligence; what one person says is great, I guarantee you there is someone else who will disagree. Get the list in "holsters" and peruse internet sites with pix, go to a gunshop or friends for a real feel and make sure your choice also includes some kind of return policy---many on this forum refer to their "box of holsters" with obvious meaning.
