How do you carry in your car?

Wondering how you guys carry in your car.

I've been looking on a lot of different options on how to carry my gun in my car with quick access to it when needed. Since there is no cheap way to do it. I decided (well actually boredom did) to custom install one in myself.

    1) Blackhawk! Nylon Hip Holster $18.00
    2) Nylon Strap $0.00
    3) Screws $0.98 (couldn't find black ones LOL)

Total Time 30mins (first 15mins was deciding where to put it lol)

P.S I can get a full grip on it too

How do I carry in my car? On me.
You're right....no cheap way to do it.
If you're contemplating of-body carry, then it really isn't carry. Just so as to make that clear.
    No...no middle ground.

Cool! You'd be what they at times affectionately call me, a "putterpants". My friends in school use to call me MacGyver for similar reasons. Some of the best things are custom fit improvisations. If you know what MacGyver is it dates you like it does me...and I don't really care. It was a good show.

I carry on my body...sometimes between the seat and console, then back on my body when I exit the vehicle.
I also have one of these for my Glock-36... http://www.fist-inc.com/holsters/holster/42.htm

Looks like you've made a great carry option rather inexpensively...
In FL that would work if you kept your hat (or something) covering the gun...just can't be seen from the outside.

desantis makes a car holster called the kingston car holster.
a strap runs around the seat connected behind the holster with a buckle and it rides btween your knees or legs.

That's exactLy what I do. But the gun keeps falling through. So this was my solution.

    Yeeeeah? Anyways.

The reason for this was, that I carry in a IWB holster, and it's alot of work to get to the gun if needed.

I often slip into the center console. Easy to get to if needed and out of view otherwise.

Accuracy ALWAYS WINS! So carry what you can hit with.

If you find yourself in a fair fight your tactics stink.

I've thought about building something like that myself over the years the problem has always been keeping it out of view, and I've not been able to find a place that's better than on body carry. I do like the idea but for my mind it's just too exposed for me to be comfortable/legal depending on the state(I travel allot).

Thumbs up for a good idea and implementation, I like the location etc, if it weren't for the exposure.

I like it. I have a somewhat similar set-up, just a kydex holster instead. (Had to make use of the POS somehow!)

I carry mine much like that. I just have a cheap holster wedged between the 40/60 seat in my truck. With the console folded down I keep a towel over it and my 2 meter radio.

I never understood people who use special car holsters....I wear my regular IWB or OWB...if it's a rrally long trip, then I use a clip on IWB and stash it in the console or glove compartment until I get out...I really think some over think this whole thing...
