How do you carry your 1911?
I have never carried a full-size pistol before so I am trying to find a comfortable holster to wear all day with nice dress shirt and slacks at work. What options have some of you tried and how is it working for you? I am thinking of getting a Comp-Tac Minotaur M-Tac tuckable holster, but I am not sure if it will totally hide the fact I am concealing a gun. Some input please.

I carry mine IWB in an Ace Case (ambi) tuckable holster with a good wide and stiff belt at about 3-3:30. I wear mostly polo shirts tucked about 80% of the time. No probs. Im 6' 205...
think there are a few of this same thread out there...

I carry mine with a SimplyRugged Cuda with I/O straps. Great holsters from a great guy. Of course, I mostly carry with an untucked shirt. When I do have to tuck my shirt in (as seldom as possible) I have a crossbreed style tuckable that has worked very well.

I use classics which work well for me for my 4" and 5" 1911s. Milt Sparks Summer Special IWB, and Horseshoe Leather #28 OWB. Comfortable and fairly compact. Both require a cover garment, which for me is normally an untucked shirt.
The #28 is definitely a "pretty" holster and gets compliments... very classy looking in business attire, if your work environment tolerates a visible weapon.

I like my Serpa holster that I got not too long ago. If you can open carry that is.

IWB MTAC tucked in dress pants with a white dress shirt and tie almost every day. The 5" 1911 just seems to tuck right up to my back and conceals better than my XD45C.
Go figure!?!

Same for me, Commander size:

Around the mini ranch a full size 1911 in a Galco Fletch.
