    just ordered a minotaur mtac

read nearly every discussion i could find here (and elsewhere) on the crossbreed supertuck and the minotaur mtac. i've decided to go with the minotaur and it seems like a decision that's a no-brainer. ordered it with an extra kydex shell for another pistol and can't wait to get them!

although the supertuck has many great reviews and looks to be a really nice holster, the minotaur looks to be everything the supertuck is and more. the construction is much nicer - the stitching is beautiful and the back of the holster is finished, great to have the flexibility of adjusting and even changing the kydex to be able to holster more than one gun is great versatility and economical, the clips can easily be changed out and they have color options. also, i'm not a fan of the crosses on the supertuck so it's nice to not have them on the mtac.

love defensivecarry.com and appreciate all of the great information here. made making this decision a lot of fun!

this is good comparison of the two holsters for all of you still looking. i'll be happy to share my impressions when i get the minotaur in a few weeks.

I had the Supertuck. Sent it back. I now have the MTAC. I love it. Works great. IMO, i think it is more comfortable and you can see it is much beter quality. The Supertuck was good, just not for me. I did not like the way the supertuck adjusted. The MTAC is better. Enjoy.

I love the Minotaur and use it as my EDC holster of choice with the S&W M&P .45.

Very comfortable, adjustable for my needs, printing is kept to a minimum and the weapon rides well.

Had a couple for years now. Don't think I will ever try to replace with anything else.

I have owned a few super tucks and I really like them. I have wanted to try a mtac for awhile now but unfortuanetly they dont make it for the gun I carry 90 percent of the time. Even though I love my super tucks the thing that would make me switch is the ability to change out the body for different guns. That adds a lot of value for me as a consumer.

the mtac arrived today. it's a great looking holster - fit and finish are fantastic. i now know why it's getting so many rave reviews. i'm looking forward to giving it some time out in the real world and will try and remember to update my impressions.

the mtac is impressive, the company a pleasure to work with, the turn around time is grea and the holster is amazing.

I accidently went on a 8 mile hike in the smokies a couple weeks ago, with the Mtac of course. I didnt even know I had it! Well, the extra 3lbs was a silent killer. I wore it most of my 3k+ mile road trip and didnt get bothered one bit. I'm sold on this holster. (and to those of you who say 8 miles is for sissies, we dont have mountains in FL! Heck, I dont even have hills where I am.)

Will one MTAC fit different sizes of XD's? Service and subcompact? 9 or 40?

You can have them make it with the end cut out so that it covers the 4in, the 5in sticks out, and the sub compact will be recessed. I got mine earlier this week an I love it.

Yes, get the "Slide" model. I use mine for my .45 Service, and my .40 SC. Both fit perfectly.
