Milt Sparks VM2 vs Comp-tac MTAC

Last summer when I first bought my HK USP Compact, I ordered a Milt Sparks Versa Max 2 for it. There was a six month backlog at the time (and still is). I couldn't wait that long to carry, so in the mean time I ordered a Comp-Tac MTAC, which shipped right away. I really grew to like the MTAC while I was waiting for the Milt Sparks holster. It was thin and I could vary the cant angle. When the VM2 arrived 7 months later, I tried it on on found that the cant angle did not work for me as well as the greater forward angle I was using on the MTAC. While the Versa Max is a beautiful holster, I couldn't find a good enough reason to give up my MTAC. So, the VM2 went on eBay.

I have only been using the MTAC now for a short time. Has everyone else carrying an MTAC longer been happy with their longevity?

I use my Sparks for my 1911 because the two were designed for each other. Mut i use my Comp Tac for my Sigs and Glocks.

I carry metal guns in leather and plastic guns in M-tac's.

I love my MTAC. I use it for my Glock. I have the VMII on order for my 1911. I use the same cant angle for both, but a 1911 in a VMII just seems to be right!

    Because?
You may now carry on with your absurd non-directional bantering.

    For me:

Plastic guns are utilitarian carry guns and therefore I want something light, thin and functional. For me the MTAC is as good as it gets. They also pretty much start and stop with Glocks or Kahrs.

Metal guns are heavier and for me more likely to be worn OWB (I do have an VM2 for my Kimber) which means they might be seen and are more likely to be a conversation piece.

I carry them all, but some are jewelry and some are tools.

I got a VM2 as well, but ended up carrying in an MTAC. Like the OP, I found the high ride and cant of the VM2 was too much for my short stature (and I'm sitting most of the day).

I adjusted the MTAC to carry lower and it's been a dream. I don't see myself going back to the VM2 any time soon.
