Just made a kydex IWB for my Colt Pony!

I love my Colt Ponies! I have a couple of them, one of them was customized by the Scott, McDougal & Assoc. from the old Colt.380.com.

99% of the time I pocket carry in a Galco holster but I've wanted to carry it iwb on occassion.

This is what I came up with.

I welcome your questions and comments!

Nice job... Don't they seem to feel better wearing them when you made it yourself? I've made three so far and am thinking about the next project. It can become addicting.

Very nice. Looks like it's tuckable, which would be a nice feature.

Why the double loop on the belt clip.? Stability..?

    It is tuckable!

The first "loop" goes over my pants waist band then it goes under the belt. It works like a charm!

    Excellent job, a well-made 'tuckable'...

    Carried it today!

It carried as well as any holster I have and that includes Milt Sparks, Mitch Rosen, Blade-Tech and Don Hume to name a few.

I'll admit that I am partial to this one and part of `the reason i`t carried so well is that I was carrying "my little Pony"!

I will make a version of this holster for my Kimber 1911. I'll let you know how it goes!

I have a Pony as well but I can't seem to find any kydex for it. Where did you get it?-Scott.

Is the Pony a SA. I have a Colt Govt 380, but never shot a Pony. It looks like you made an indentation to ensure the safety stays on for safe cocked and locked.
I would love to have a Kydex pocket holster with a thumb push and a indentation to ensure the safety stays on.

    The Pony is DAO.

I had a Mustang but I guess like you I had a hard time carrying it in my pocket cocked and locked.

I sold the Mustang to a local cop. I gave him a deal and he said it would be his bug so I'm glad it found a good home.

The Pony is just a DAO version of the Mustang. It is truly a great gun.

If I still had my Mustang I would try to make a holster that would fit your needs Steve.

Here are a couple of pictures of the new and improved model. I added a sweat guard and made it a little less tight. Still secure but a smoother draw.

    Enjoy!
