    Lightbulb Post-IT Practice w/pics!

I just thought I would share a nice little "cheap" technique I have been using for about a year in my practice drills with yall. Hopefully someone will find this useful.

I buy those nice neon colored post it notes from office supply stores (about 3.00) and apply them to a standard siloutte target in 3 "vital" tactical shooting regions, the head, the COM, and the pelvis (for practicing shooting below body armor).

I then have a buddy call colors and targets, and engage that color/target until I have placed 2 rounds on the 3x3 or 4x4 square.

2 to the chest and 1 to the head is also easy to practice on these cheap zone targets, As well as "Mozambique drills".

I also throw in some "screw your buddy" drills with this to increase focus on a target while clearing a FTF.

There are several techniques you can practice with these cheap targets, and once you hit them, simply cover them up with more...a poor mans shoot-N-C. Also lets you get alot more mileage form those 1$ apiece silhouettes.

You can also buy a staple gun and neon colored birthday plates for a larger target area.

Me, notice target w/ post its:

Not a bad idea at all .......

I particularly like the "calling" colors drill.

I have been a fan of cheap targets for a loooong time,

I use paper plates alot for longer range shooting. Keep an

eye on Midway USA too, I got a deal on Shoot and See factory

    2nds targets ... 50 ea 5" targets for like $3.50 or so.

I am all for economy and this is another useful suggestion. Thx.

I ''punish'' targets way beyond most folks and like anything that achieves that even better

I like that you can keep an silhouette in sight, but have designated areas to hit on it....keeping with the realistic target training, while adding a bit of color and fine tuning to the mix.....Works great with AR's too.

I picked up 300 sticky notes and a 50 pack of neon plates at a dollar store yesterday for under 3$ total...less than a 20 pack of any shoot NC targets.

We've trained with 3x5 cards in vital zones for years...The post-its would be way cooler, as they have adhesive already on them.

    Cool tip

    Thanks.

    That's a good idea. I like it.

I imagine it would work well too if you have a colored front sight... can always come up with contrasting colors.

Yes, my Dad uses the yellow post it's alot because he has a orange front sight, helps him see a little more precise.

Put your scoring stick-ons on the back. Post-its might fall off but the small Shoot-n-see's won't. Now you're practicing.

If you are going to shoot up a buch of them, economy is a factor, so maybe tape the Post-its.

BTW, I want to see the duster that will cover that CCW rig!
