I can't carry appendix- there's more than a little too much overhang for that to work. :redface: I tend to carry at either a 4:30-5:30, or 7:30-8:30 position, and don't have trouble drawing.

I can see a few advantages of carrying appendix and cross drawing- that could make for one fast draw, while letting you keep the elbow of your gun hand ready to slam into your attacker as you draw (but only in close quarters- like if you were being rushed), and the benefit if not necessarily looking like you're drawing until it's too late- if done correctly.
Post wasn't about a BUG; but cross-draw appendix (for right-handers, stomach) is one of best for a BUG (OMOYMMV).
