Pistol training in MD
Hey Ya'll
Ok I live in MD, not the most gun friendly state in the union.
Firstly there is an Izzac Walton club near where I live. They seem to have a pretty good facility but it's a membership club. $225.00 a year. I didn't see any mention of training classes on their web site though. Does anyone <RStickle ;)> know of any good training classes available and where.
I am prior Military Police, but have been out of the game for awhile so would not be above taking a few refresher courses and get up to speed on the latest and greatest stuff. Would also like to get my wife in a class as well. (she is "uncomfortable" around guns)
Any feedback you can provide would be appreciated.

Mike, As far as I know, and have seen most classes in Maryland seem to be taught by "local" gun clubs. Right now I belong to the club at Goddard SFC where I work. The Walton Club is one of the "biggies", and there is the AGC range at $150 per year, but you also have to belong to a member club to get access. There is a range/club at Berwin (sp?), but I don't know much about it other than it's about in the same price range as Walton.
Most clubs have the classes, I know ours is running a basic pistol class the first weekend of October, I usually help teach it, but can't because of a prior commitment this time.
I'm also not sure about which clubs are "open" membership. Your best bet might be going to the AGC Range site at http://www.associatedgunclubs.org/index.htm and looking under the "Member Clubs" on the left side of the page. That could give you a start.
