My first IDPA, and it was a classifier!
First the awesome news... I qualified as a Sharp Shooter on my first shooting match ever.
Even better was the fun that I had during the comp. There was a great gentleman that took me under his wing offering excellent coaching advice and generally good conversation.
The volunteer Safety Officers ran a great match. Very clear instructions and very patient with us newbies (happy to report that there were at least a dozen of us.)
Pistol - Walther PPQ in 9 mm.
I can't wait for a real match. That was a blast!

Congrats! I'm jealous, want to do one badly.
The stupidity of some people NEVER ceases to amaze me.

Yea IDPA is allot of fun.
Actually, the classifier is rather boring compared to the regular IDPA scenarios and stages.
I think, therefore I am...

I want to go shoot it this weekend. It will depend on how I feel after getting Lasik tomorrow.

And, yes it does sound like fun (IDPA, although I could use the lasik too)

Totally a non-sequitur, but if I was from Oregon, my screen name would have to be 'Oregunner', but NiceAsh does have a ring to it.

IDPA is indeed a blast and good practice, esp. if you shoot what you carry (I'll never "win" shooting full house 357 mag, but that's not the point). I get down to NM from Chicago eight months of the year for it (oh, yeah, my wife lives there too).

Congrats! I found a range local to me that puts on IDPA events. I'm really looking forward to giving it a try. To make it more fun my brother and step father are wanting to give it a go as well. Nothing better than spending family time at the range!
