I was taught to close with and destroy my enemy, not give distance. Belleau wood will attest to that

It's all good. We're all adults on here and can poke fun at each other. I always get a good chuckle from branch rivalry humor. When I was deciding which branch to serve in I first ruled out the Air Force because I wanted to join the military. Next went the Navy because I couldln't see joining the branch who's theme song was sung by The Village People. It was a close call in the end but I figured that after 200 years if they still couldn't find a few good men the Marines were beyond help so the Army was the place for me to be all I could be.

    Semper Fi,

And those are not only O-CONUS combat rules, we practice that at home every day.

Did I already say, Semper Fi!?

I saw this, previously, without the Army and Air Force tags, and sent it to my friend, a Marine from WWII. He immediately sent it to all his Navy buddies, and they all laughed their heads off.

If distance is our friend, won't that also be the enemies friend as well? I think so

One thing I'd add about the Navy-- wear blue BDU's that mean you can't see em when they fall over. Always astounded by the squids I worked with that couldn't swim.
One thing I'd add about the Marines-- tell everyone on the road that you are a Marine by putting at a minimum 3 stickers somewhere on your back window and bumper.
One thing I'd add about the Army-- when two people can do the job, send in 10 and make sure it takes longer.
Amen to the army adding more men and taking longer lol.. 6 yrs and I loved every minute of it

One guy who was a dedicated marine told it to me this way :

The Navy bombards them for days.
The Air Force drops bombs on them.
Then they send in the Marines to kill them and take over.
Then the Army comes in to do clean up and establish bases.
Then the Generals show up with the press for pictures.

I would have to add (some friends of mine are Seals, like Marines ... I don't think any of them use the term in the past tense ... once they are, they are):

But send in the Seals when you don't want anyone to know they were there, until long after they've left.

I understand the list quite well, had it drilled into me by my father for a long time (WWII Vet - Battle of Bulge, 100 mi march to Bastonge with the 3rd Army, they liberated the first concentration camp, etc).

Being former aircrew, at one time or another I have worked all branches. Each has their own qualities, abilities and mission and it has been an honor and privilege to serve with all of them.
