How Far Away Should I Take The Shot?
At exactly what distance am I 100% certain of my accuracy? This is a 3/4 scale target, thirty feet from me.targetsonline 005.JPG These are the first four shots I took today, each one coming from chest ready. targetsonline 004.JPG I am not extolling my marksmanship, because there are many here who would outdo me every time. I am just saying I endeavor to train effectively, so I will know my limitations, and expand my abilities and skills.

It's a tough shot that I practice too.
What worries me is that I'll hit the bridge of the nose in practice as well, but I'm afraid in real life, I'd hold high-right on your target.

That scenario scares me almost more than any other. Train, train, train.

Targets Online - It's Time For A Better Target is where all mine come from. Twenty-five cents each, and reasonable shipping get you very heavy, durable stock targets

Yes, and they have many others. By far the best quality, most reasonably-priced targets I have ever purchased. They will also work great for any of you instructors who do scenario training.

Right before you take that shot you should probably sprint 2 miles then attempt the shot.
You do not fight like you train nor will you rise to the occasion, but rather default to the highest level you have mastered....Officer B. Harnish.

At a quarter a target, you aren't saving much.

Heck, just sprint 100 yards. Then it's hard to hit anything, which doesn't inspire confidence for me in such a situation.

Not two miles, but that particular aspect is regularly incorporated into my training efforts. Tough at first, but any more, it doesn't really have much effect.

In class, it is either the student's daughter or sister.

They both look very calm for a rapey guy target. People use those at my range and the results tend to be scary. I'd say if you ever found yourself in this situation it would, most likely, be well within 30 feet
