Interesting statistic, I wonder if this is true for other states as well?

Well I guess I would be in that group. Makes sense. The older we get the less able we are to defend or protect ourselves, or escape from a threat. Wiser? Maybe. I'd like to think so.

I can relate to oldnfat. Since I'm getting older I realize that I am not as capable of defending myself as before...AND, my bullets move way faster than I ever could.

As far as wiser...don't know, just maybe too tired and not capable to do some of the crazy things I use to do but sometimes still wish I could

Ive pretty much carried since I was a teenager back when dinosaurs were still to be found. I started carrying religiously around the clock at around age 42..

Now at 55 I simply dont go where I cannot be armed, period. I think once you reach the age that more of your life is behind you than ahead having whats left cut short by some thug is an insulting thought.

We're doin' the best we can!

One of the first few rules of gun-fighting as I recall is: "Never pick a fight with a senior, if they're to old to fight, they'll probably just kill you" (paraphrasing).

Well friends, you can for sure include me in that 'senior' group, I'm to old to put up much of a fight anymore, to crippled up and slow to run, and I'm always well armed when off my property...24/7. BG's beware!

Youth seem to believe they are invincible...that notion gradually fades with time and life experiences. When the reality of the world becomes more than a person can ignore, they start to take things like self defense seriously. When you see all of the stuff happening plastered all over the news every day, I can't understand why a person would choose NOT to carry...regardless of age.

I'm 51 and have had major heart surgery. It took a bit of the wind out of my sails, but I ain't dead yet. Just moving a bit slower, a few more aches and pains not worth mentioning, and the vision is getting a bit fuzzy due to short arms.

I'm armed everywhere I go. Now that I've figured out that I'm not the 30 year old I've been deluding myself into believing I am, I don't take chances anymore. I take at least a .380 and a German Shepherd Dog. Usually bigger.

My fear is that the current generation ( and probably the last generation) will simply get older but not any wiser.

I believe that, as time goes on, each generation of young folks think they are "More Invincible" than the previous generation. There are a few thing that today's youth have against them that I did not have. No good "Switchins", no requirement to excel and pressing the "Start Over' button on Playstation" after being blown into a million pieces.
