    Looking at martial arts in the Kentucky area.

    I am seriously considering studying jujitsu(Japanese, not Brazilian). There are some dojos in my area. Input is welcome.

    If that is not the only style your looking at you may try researching Krav Maga, I have some friends on the P.D. That studied it at CORE combat sports in louisville, they said it was some great training.

    I made a similar decision a couple of months ago, I wanted some hand to hand skills to complement my defensive toolset. I chose Krav Maga based on its focus on intuitive reactions and gross motor skills...well, and the fact that there's a gym nearby that teaches it. So far it's been great.
