I am in awe, and totally dumbstruck. I say a P-14. He gives me a thumbs up looks me over and than invites me check out his new acquistions.
I walk with the owner who is about my age (33ish) to desk and he proceeds to remove the mag from and clear a brand new Duty One STI. He then goes to a small safe and takes out a Yost and a Wilson CQB. I am completely dumbfounded. ~A
Not to hijack the thread, but that's pretty cool. You never know where you're going to find another one of "us."

    Apachon,

If you could post a follow-up after a shooting session that would be great.

Hehe speaking of "us" being everywhere, I think I'm the only math teacher in this building who knows the difference between a Glock 30 and a Winchester 94.

Scott I figure I am one of the first to say a post is useless without some pics so here is a pic with the slide frame and grip tape along the front strap. I can imagine taming recoil and second follow up shots should be quicker as well.

    Pictures???

Pictures are good. I still owe you a picture of my new 1911. I'll get it really. I took some, but they were so dark they didn't work.

    Thanks APachon.

Hello all. My first post on this fine board with some helpful info for you. I use stair tread tape from Home Depot, in the paint section, sold by the foot. They carry several different widths. It's 3M and the same tape used for Decal Grips. If the metel or plastic is dry, it wil stick semi-permanately.

I have had good luck warming the tape and surface with a hairdryer. the tape becomes more flexible and adhears well. I wrap rope or para cord tightly around the area where the tape has been applied, just for a little pressure. In a few hours it is really stuck.

    Mike,

Welcome to the Board. You hit it on the head with the stair tape. I was trying to think of it, but my brain wouldn't engage. That's bad considering I'm on the East Coast and I'm wide awake.

Anyway great suggestion. You just warm it until it becomes more pliable right?

Still using my original sheet purchased in about 88 or 89. Used on back of P7s, BHPs, and front of 1911s.

I did rapid fire drills this past wednesday and the target group was tighter than previous. The grip tape helps tame recoil in that my grip does not waiver at all.
