    Makhaira Group?

Trying to find a firearms training school close to me. Willing to spend the extra $$$ for a good one, but can't afford the extra time away from home to travel very far. More for the wife than myself, but likely we will both go.

Found a lot of, what look like, smaller operations, which is fine.
    I did find this outfit;

Makhaira Group - Providing conceal carry (ccw) , pistol, handgun training and self-defense in northern Colorado

Wondering if anyone knows anything about them?
If not, anyone know of good training in the Northern Colorado region? Willing to go to Denver, willing to go to Cheyenne, that's about it.
More than just CCW classes, and longarms would be great too.

    Thanks.

Don't really know of one out there in your neck of the woods, but if you could manage a trip to Gunsite it would be worth it.

I am not picking at you, but that statement in bold is not true.

Yes, you know the point I am making. All of what you listed the OP should be looking for in a school.

Although completely dissimilar, i am hoping my decade of martial arts experience helps me weed out a good instructor from a bad one.

...but i joined this forum specifically for reasons like this, and is why i posted this question, hoping someone had good first hand experience with Northern Colorado trainers.

I've already done a few CCW/NRA type classes, my wife has done one, i am looking to continue both our regimens.

The Makhaila Group looked interesting as they say they also design security programs for schools and churches, and do VIP protection training and all sorts of stuff, definately not run of the mill stuff. it also appears this NOCO loacation is one of many, so they are a larger outfit.

Most instructors will come to you if you can find a range and people to fill the class. If you can meet that goal then pick the instructor you want and go for it. Lot of the time they give you one or two free slots in the class you sponsor. You have to provide the range and supplies (targets, etc) for the class most times.

^ Magpul Dynamics has a nice little write-up about how they expect things to be done:

Host Magpul Dynamics at your range - http://www.magpuldynamics.com/

You can expect other "traveling" instructors/schools to require similar.

Many times, the best sources for "vetting" your local schools are local/regional shooters. If you've got such a Forum community, look into cross-checking there. Typically in any such community there will be at least a small cadre of training-heavy folks.

Harry his liking or disliking of post has nothing to do with the type of guy he is.

I dont either, but to chastise an individual for liking something is petty....Considering he is a gun guy and a friend, but I digress....
