I was shot in the arm today at the range..

By a ricochet from my .40 Glock. Stung like a bee sting but only for a few seconds. I'm thinking it was a piece of the FMJ that I was hit by. I was shooting at a 25yd range with what looks like a concrete backstop. And this is why we wear eye protection!

Yep, happened to me before. Defintely wear that eye protection. Not a ricochet. I've had bigger mosquito bites. Just kidding with you.

Scary to know that you could be hit in the eye with something like that if you weren't properly protected.

Wow. That's surprising. I have heard of this happening with steel but never a concrete range. Glad to hear that didn't end up in a worse spot.

I can't tell exactly what the backstop is made from. Just looks like concrete

Or as a gun owner you may have been shot by one of DHS's micro drones with a ittty bittyy guided missile in order to implant a tracking and mind control device.

Many years ago Speer sold a 146 and 160 grain half jacketed SWC, those things were notorious for throwing pieces of jacket back into your face. I only bought one box of the 146s and after getting hit twice in the face I pulled those bullets and discarded them.

Yup. Not getting "shot." Minor point, but still.

Chunks of whatever flying while shooting occurs in any place with hard backstops, any place with stones in the backstop, etc. Inevitable that it'll happen now and then, if you shoot long enough. Most of us have been there, at one time or other.

Good reminder how important eye protection is, for everyone on the range. You never know what'll come flying.

On a related note ... just wait 'til you get a couple of hot cartridges dumping down the collar of your shirt, or (worse) stuck between the rim of your shooting glasses and your temple. That'll grab your attention, too.

Getting shot, and living are two other totally different things. Again, glad you did not frag an eye. That would have been tramatic!
