Pretty much shows why I fear the knife over the gun. Most of those who are good with a knife will not show it until they are cutting you. Most times you will think you were just hit not stuck with a knife.

All that fancy, flying opening-technique reminds me of Doc Holliday spinning his drink cup in "Tombstone". Too much sizzle, not enough steak. That's why I'm a fan of fixed blade kerambits (EDC right now). You'll never (EVER) beat a fixed blade into the fight with a folder.

Carry a 5.5" or 10.5" straight at all times.

Beg to differ, it will depend on the players behind the blades.

If I see a knife coming at me and I can because I think I should I hope I can deploy before the knife takes me out.
I'm just a spoke in the wheel but not a big deal.

Never bring a knife to a gun fight.

I learned a long time ago to run from a knife. I can use one to attack and defend myself. Probably a bit better than the average Joe, but I never want to be in the situation that I have to defend against a knife hand to hand again.

If you get in a knife fight, you will be cut.

Conversely, we demonstrate being guncentric will get you killed in a knife fight.

Imagine the time you have to draw trying to get out of the way while a guy like that goes to pockets and is moving two sharp blades at 4-5 hits a second. Try to move away and they move with you, there's not much time. Only good thing about that scenario? Few carry two folders in pockets and can use them simultaneously.
