There were only 2 students in the class, so we were able to get alot of 1 on 1 time with the instructor, who was awesome BTW. In addition to being a truly amazing pistol shot (even with OUR guns!), he had alot of real-world advice and experience gained from 20+ years as an LEO. We shot (for qualifying) 5 shots at 10 yards and 5 more at 5 yards. I only missed the 10-ring twice, and they were CLOSE 9s. We needed to shoot in the 8-ring, so I did OK there. After the qualification shoot was over, we got to do some point shooting and a little speed shooting at 5 yards and under. THAT was fun!
I'll get the fingerprints done tomorrow and get the application sent off. AZ's been pretty fast on the turnaround lately, so I should be eating nachos in a few weeks!
You sure lucked out on class size!!
I am teaching a Basic Pistol in 2 weeks but that'll probably be four of us handing at least 10 students - probably 14 or so by then.
Hope the permit time frame is fairly short for you.
