Funny thing I noticed at the range.

The past 2 to 3 times I have been to the range I have tried shooting two handed and single handed with both right and left. With every gun I try shooting single handed my speed and accuracy is usually affected. However I have noticed my accuracy is a little better when I shoot with my strong hand only over two handed when I am shooting my Sig 220. All other guns are better two handed. Of course time span between shots is longer, or I sacrafice alot of accuracy. But the group size in noticable smaller.

Anyone noticed this with any of their weapons?

Some folks notice it, and of course, others do not. Usually the reason is that while shooting one handed, you are more focused on trigger control and sight alignment, thus more accurate. Two handed shooting makes people more confident, and with practice it can be more accurate to shoot QUICKLY that way, but two hands can't make up for fundamentals.

As an afterthought, maybe the reason you are more accurate with the Sig one handed is that the trigger may be longer/heavier than, for example, a 1911 with a trigger job, thus making the trigger press that much more important.

One other point - sometimes ....... one handed extends the gun a bit further away from eyes and so can give a marginally better sight picture if deliberate shooting. Bit more like bullseye shooting.

In my case probably not so much as I kept my torso perpendicular with my arms, just as I would if I were using two hands. I kept my weak hand up and my fist was on my chest.

    But it does make since.
