    Course recommendations

My mother commented toady that she would like to have my sister, 17, take a "Firearms safety class" I will preface this by saying she is already very safe but mom wants her to take the class as a refresher. can anyone give me a recommendation on what type of NRA course would be good to look for.

    Thanks
    Mark

A First Steps course might work for her, but Basic Pistol would be better IMO. Depends. I assume a pistol orientation, but she could take the rifle or shotgun courses as well.

Go with NRA Basic Handgun Safety course first. Its a very good class, especially if the person has little or no experience with firearms. Then, maybe the Home Defense course.

Depending where in PA your sister lives, there are some fine classes offered at Hellertown Sportsman Club, including the Snub Revolver class in October. There is also a "Legal and Practical Aspects of Self Defense with Firearms" class in September.
