    Rip, Strip, Reload

    Has anyone ever heard this term before? I was just reading an article called 'The Ayoob files: when your gun jams in a firefight - Massad Ayoob' and it mentions this term in the article. The scenario was a female trooper comes up on a man standing on the side of the highway and he pulls a gun and shoots at her. She returns fire with her issued Beretta 96 but it stops firing after a few rounds and she performs a 'Rip, Strip, Reload', as she was taught. I was wondering what it was.
    It is to be observed that Right of Self-Defence, arises directly and immediately from the Care of our own Preservation, which Nature recommends to every one. . . , and that this right is so primary, that it cannot be denied on the basis that it is not "expressly set forth.

    rip = rack slide (then fire to see it it goes, if not..)
    strip = drop mag
    reload = reload

    I hadn't heard that one before, but it sounds to me like a way to deal with a double feed jam---"rip" the magazine out, "strip" the live round out of the chamber by racking the slide, then "reload" a fresh mag. For most other types of FTF, the drill would be "tap" the bottom of the magazine to seat it properly, "rack" the slide to clear the misfire and chamber a new round, then "bang" (pretty self-explanatory ).
