Completed my First Tactical pistol course today

Today, after watching a couple of Yeager's training videos, reading Andy Stanford's book, and practice for last couple of months once a week or so, my tactical pistol course day finally arrived.

I did my course with TFA - Home Page and it was a tac pistol 1, I HIGHLY recommend them for anyone in South Florida. Their tactics and methods were similar with just few minor differences to the videos i've seen of Gabe Suarez, Yeager etc..

They were VERY safety concious and it helped the course of the day run smoothly. Typical Miami weather, it was hot, sunny, then windy and rainy...we shot anyways.

We did "the" qualification that Ft. Lauderdale police trainees must complete for their qual's. Minimum score was 36 out of 42. Shot's must be "on" the blue. Done in various drills; draw from holster, and from inside ready, and high kneel.

6 shots at 1yard, 6 shots at 3 yards, 12 shots at 7 yards, 12 shots at 15 yards, and 6 shots at 25 yards

I'm happy to say i scored 42/42. Glock 19 w/ XS big dots

At the end of the day, I personally did'nt feel sensory overload but I could see for someone that is completely brand new to taking a tactical class how it could be. (It was my first class but again, I've watched the videos, and practiced a bit at the range and house, so I felt I would pickup what they were saying very quickly.)

I look forward to going out to their Thursday night training drills, where you can practice everything you learned, as well as their Tactical Pistol 2 class.
