    Gunsite opinions?

Well im thinking of taking my wife and I through Gunsites defensive pistol 250 class. I hear its a great class. More for her then myself but im sure i will have some fun as well. Im just wondering, is it really worth the $$$? I mean 3000$ for the both of us to go, plus we would have to pay for the trip and lodging and meals while there. Has anyone been to Gunsite that can offer some advice?

Don't forget the 2000 rounds of ammo for both of you to use. As far as worth it, I'd drive and bring my ammo to save a few bucks. I havn't been, but would love to go.

It's either Gunsite 250 or LFI I'm hoping to go this fall.

Gunsite (which I hear is great) is a bit of a distance, so I had other plans...

I had been planning on LFI I. in Live Oak (I'm only 60 miles away)...it's been there for several years now (each November). Mr. Ayoob has a home there...I set aside the $$ to go and just found out that, for some reason, no class there this year.

It sounds like a good deal to me... I'd love to try Gunsite and hope I get a chance!

I have also been looking into Front Sight but after viewing there website its almost like watching one of those infomercials or "as seen on t.v" deals you know? Kind of seems like a scam or something. But i guess i cant judge a book by its cover. I just know that you can get certificates online for Front Sight for very cheap. And the free XD is pretty tempting!

I have been told by lots of people that despite the appearance you describe the training is first rate and the sales pitches are voluntary. I'm curious to know if anyone has paid the $1,200 for the whole package deal, including the pistol as opposed to merely getting the certificate?

Keep in mind that many of the classic Gunsite instructors travel and teach around the country.... maybe a more affordable option for that type of training....

We went to Front Sight on March 6th and it was great

There were four of us from this area that went to the four day class and we had a great time. One of the guys had bought a "Certificate" off one of the forum's for $100.00 so he got the same training that Dave and I did for $1200.00 because we took the "Gun Package".

The training was great and an experience that we will never forget. Watch and get the certificates and go that way and enjoy yourself.

This is a link that was posted by the class that followed us the week after we went. You might enjoy the photos.

No hassles? Got the gun there or shipped to your FFL? I thought the whole package didn't sound too bad, I am always looking for a reason to end up with another gun.

Was the gun included with the certificate deal?
