You mean it is an add for a gun dealer? I thought it was a recruitment add for the Mel Gibson Academy of Leathal Weaponery and all around Blastology. LOL.

I wonder at the origin of the shooting sideways stuff you see in all the movies and on this clip. There was an interesting article about this in Gun Digest a couple of years back- if I recall the author traced it in film to Tico from The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly with the bathtub scene. (The Eli Wallach character- the "ugly"). It surely has saved a lot of cops' lives to the extent the gangsters use that technique I suppose, so maybe Hollywood did us a favor.

I've always thought it was because if you were shooting a cheap (read unreliable) pistol, an exaggerated cant will help it cycle better.

Would somebody please email that dealer this video? Just so they know what a real shooter looks like and shoots like

You have to make the shot when fire is smoking, people are screaming, dogs are barking, kids are crying and sirens are coming.

Just for fun let's everyone watch this piece of garbage.

Now let's systematically catalog the errors in technique.

I'd love to think this video is meant as a joke, but I think it's serious...

Somebody's been watching The Matrix series too often. The thing is, my students are absolutely certain that's the real way to shoot! IMHO, that perception is probably a good thing from the perspective of the LEO and armed citizen communities....

There is a small followup to this... I shared this horrid video and another off the same site with some others, who weren't gun people, and the reactions were roughly

    65% Wow Awesome and

35% I don't know anything about guns but I bet what that guy is doing is wrong

Someone asked me what I thought about it, and I told them I was more afraid of a complete novice who could actually aim properly than I was of this guy.

Someone on another forum who knew a little bit of Finnish was able to tell me the site is selling these guns basically... so yes the man in this video is trying to use this material to sell firearms to people.

    That ain't right.

It doesn't get much gayer that that.

You never see point of impact through point of aim. All set up to show how cool the action hero (mall viking) is.

Is this an episode of 24?

This looked like a bad episode of 24. That was one of the gayest things I have ever seen. Hans Farfurnugen couldn't hit the broadside of a barn from one foot away.

I did like the burning the cardboard thing....
otherwise it was really, really scary. I felt so bad for the cameraman, I think I cringed a couple of times expecting him to get shot.
