Anyone taken Civilian courses at Blackwater?
Yeah, it's not called "Blackwater" anymore, I know. Have any of you taken their classes that are open to civilians? My best friend and I are planning on taking Tactical Pistol 1 and 2 this fall, if possible. Or we may have to wait for Spring to do the second one.
Looking for advice, pros and cons, how awesome it was, tips, anything would be helpful. Thanks!

I don't know about the civilian training, but the stuff they teach us military guys is out standing.
You'll love the compound and you'll go back again for future training.
Enjoy and have fun!

Yes. They tend to have two instructors per class. One is usually former military and the other is usually former law enforcement. Shoot a lot of ammunition and plate work. On a comparison basis the emphasis is more on the tactical side than on a concealed carry side. Very little classroom time and most of the instruction is on the range. Ranges are gravel and it can get wet in North Carolina. Overall very good value for money spent.

Bring something to entertain yourself if you are going to bunk there.
The Food Lion in Moyock is the biggest attraction, and that ain't sayin' much.

hahaha so true. I've driven through there many times!
I've heard great great things about their civilian training. I'm planning to do so once the Mrs. graduates from nursing school and my business is up and running.

I taught at Blackwater, in 05, go there train and go train with someone else too. Now is about the best time to go there.
You do not think the 9mm is effective? Then let me shoot at you.

How is it in the fall, like Early October-ish? The only stipulation Mr. Bunny has is that I do it while Bunny Jr. is in school, and since they get out this month, that leaves Fall as the earliest I can go. What do you think?
