AAR Basic Tac Pistol
I guess it’s my turn to submit an After Action Report…
Let me start off by saying… if you are going to carry a handgun for personal protection you NEED this course. I have taken the NRA Basic Pistol and Personal Protection in the Home and they don’t compare to Tom’s Basic Tactical Pistol Course. He covered everything I wanted to learn. Grip, Stance, Draw, Magazine Changes, Weak Hand Shooting, Shooting from Cover and Concealment, Shooting on the Move, Shooting Steel, and much more. We spent maybe an hour or two in the classroom with the basics. Then it was off to the range for rest of the day. We had lots of one on one time with the instructors who fine tuned everything from our grip to stance.
Tom said to bring what you carry. So I brought along my Colt 1911 Defender with my Tucker Gunleather Pancake holster with the matching Double Angled Magazine pouch and they performed flawlessly.
By the way, I was the one with the 7 round magazines that Riverine was talking about from M4Carbine.net. I actually brought 6 magazines (I should have brought more). I had two in the pouch and the rest in my pocket. I would transfer one from my pocket when I used one from the pouch. It all worked pretty well.
Tom Perroni and the CCJA staff are very professional. You couldn’t ask for better training instructors.
Thanks Tom… I really enjoyed the training. I’ll be back for the Tactical Carbine course and maybe Basic Tactical Pistol again but with my spouse.
Have a Harley Day,
Jeff
Ahhh, what an awful dream. Ones and zeros everywhere... and I thought I saw a two.
