Shoot NC targets Homemade Stlye?

I been playin the ISPC IDPA game too long and the eyes are getting old, the bifocals are a PIA. I like shoot NC targets but they are a bit pricey. Wondering if anyone has any ideas about how to make em? Maybe using regular IPSC cardboard and painting the A zone. I'm about to start some indoor shooting and would like to stick with the IPSC targets and try to avoid pasting 6" shoot NC over A zone. I wonder what's available in flourescent spray paint and what could be sprayed over top to duplicate the scratch off effect of the shoot NC? I think I might experiment over the A zone of an IPSC target. Don't even necessarily have to use black top paint, maybe a brownish to match standard pasters. Any ideas or opinions would be appreciated.

Well, I had some steel "A" zones made--just 6x12 with a hole drilled for mounting. In 1/2" soft steel (fine for handgun rounds) they ran $11 each.

I seem to recall someone using spray oil like PAM on top of bright orange paint then spraying with black after it dried a bit. Don't know for sure but the shoot NC targets are a bit pricey.

I like to stick paintball balls in strategic places on paper targets. That way, there's no disputing you hit the mark, and it's fun to watch them 'splode.

(Hot glue attaches them perfectly to paper. Even if you have to use it on hi-temp, if it punctures the paintball ball, it will immediately seal it up, so you won't have to worry about accidental leakages, usually.)

Interesting some googling discovered the possibility of mixing water based black paint with dish washing liquid. Maybe this concoction brushed over flourescent red?
