Might sound stupid, and I apologize in advance if this topic has been posted before, but I'm confused about NRA classes. In order to get more proficient with my handguns, I joined the NRA for their safety and shooting classes. However, I can't find anywhere on their Web site which shows when or where their classes are. Is this something I'll get in the mail, or is it on their horribly designed Web site, and I just can't find it?
Thanks in advance, everyone!

I definitely appreciate it! Unfortunately there seem to be few courses coming up in my area, but I bet that'll pick up once schedules are made for the better weather in the spring and summer.
NRA doesn't run a lot of defensive type courses, mostly basic gun handling courses. Other trainers (lots of that info is here in this subforum) run "road show courses" more geared to CCW and/or defensive use of firearms.
You must remember that as an instructor, we can only list courses there that are NRA classes, like Home Firearms Safety. I can be an NRA certified instructor and teach my own homegrown course and it won't be listed on that NRA training site.
Aah, okay. I am taking Advanced Handgun I with an NRA instructor/LEO Commander later this spring. But I was looking for NRA-specific classes, as many independent instructors don't seem to have non-CCW basic firearms classes. I already have my CCW.. I just want some one-on-one or close to it instruction to get better.
For all you know the instructor(s) in your region may be building up a student list as prior to posting an official course schedule online.
Also the instructor(s) may even start a class as at your request or even offer you personalized instruction.
Through NRA programs I personally as an instructor and student have experienced all three of the above possibilities.
