The pros: non lethal
effective at a distance
easy to deploy
The cons: expensive compared to other non lethal alternatives like pepper spray for example
single use - not effective in a multiple attackers situation
low or dead battery would render it useless
Good defense weapon, you just have to weigh the pros against the cons.
Are the listed pros of easy to deploy/use and being effective based on personal experience.
IMHO it is not a good idea to attempt to replace a firearm with a Taser. Police use a Taser with lethal cover, why do you think that is? Can someone post some stories about civilian use of a Taser?- George
I sell C2s and wear one when not cc. Knightrider is right you can use as a contact stun gun, wont be same reaction as when the prongs are deployed, but hurts like 400 hells. when deployed the c2 cycles for 30 seconds. this keeps bg on the ground and lets you drop c2 and make escape. you can reload but you would have to either wait the 30 seconds or close the port to stop the cycle, . if multiple bg's best to let keep cycling and use as stun gun on any one within 15 ft. only 1 person, drop it and get the hell out of dodge. Make a police report send it to taser, they will send you new taser no charge. Get the model with laser and light. At distance it looks like you have a gun and should be excellent deterrent. If in an area such as parking deck or see someone that puts you on alert, you can put up to ear and act like it's a phone.(the belt case does make it look like a large phone) if threatened thumb open port, point and fire if bg is 15 ft or less from you. has a battery life indicator, had mine about two years and have tested a dozen times still on green light. has enough juice for multiple deployments. other plus, don't need ccw.
Couldn't find the article, but read in Atlanta journal a year or so ago were a woman came to policemans aid with a c2. cop and bg were scuffling and the lady took bg down with a c2.
