Some people seem to like it. I would be concerned in that oc is designed and recognized as a SD chemical, whereas Wasp/Hornet could be seen as a caustic chemical. At a sufficient level of SD that might not be a problem, but at lower levels it might.

    Cool

This was gone over a couple months ago. I heard a term used once to describe it as "getto mace". You can use it and it will definately mess up one's eyesight but OC spray is a better choice and comes in a smaller container that is easier to carry and is an acceptable form of self defense.

Several previous threads about it. I'm not going to find them.....but I'll say this....some alternatives are good ones. Whether or not a 24oz can of industrial strength wasp and hornet spray can be more well concealed than most lethal options remains to be proven. I will guarantee it's K.A. stuff on the wasps....drops them right out of mid air up . But the deployment against would be attackers and the logistics of it all, just don't seem to meet the criteria in my book. Do as you will.
IMO...if you're looking for a less than lethal alternative to save your life....then why are you here on this forum?

It works where OC and CC are illegal and Defensive sprays are banned. Mu field guys prefer it to the company issued "Dog Spray".

Hope you don't get any back spray, or spray the wrong person/animal with the wasp spray...you might cause major health or 'lawyer' problems. Good ole' OC spray will work just fine.OMO

Does she really believe that wasp spray can compete with bullets?

No misunderstanding here. Just giving you some more ammo. Wife thinks that guns are "scary". What's more scary when your wife is looking down the barrel of a pawn shop 45 from some jerk town criminal when you're not there to defend her? It's no game.....life....that's what it's all about. Most of the time....lethal force is what's needed to continue on. Just read the headlines. Criminals don't use 'alternative means' to get what they want. Most of them are willing and able to kill before they even set out on a mission. Why should we be less prepared? Your wife won't train with you. If that bothers you......you'll find a way to influence her beyond a reasonable doubt. Like I said the other night in another thread....being on the fence only gets you one of two things. A sore ass, and short on the reply. My best intentions for the both of you.

Let's not forget that little warning on the back of the can that specifically says that using the spray for any other reason other than indicated on the can is against federal law. While I don't think any jury would prosecute someone who grabbed a can in the heat of battle to defend him or herself but if it ever came out that someone was specifically carrying the spray for use against human beings they could be looking at some legal repercussions.

As mentioned, wasp/hornet spray is a nerve killer and if there is any "backspray" or if the can is taken away and used against your wife she could end up blind or worse. It's a nasty substance.

If she's going to carry something in a spray form it should be designed for use against humans.

A good idea if your home is invaded by wasps or hornets.

The below is an example of the kind of thing you might face, depending on the circumstances of use of the H/W spray.

    244. Any person who willfully and maliciously places or throws, or
causes to be placed or thrown, upon the person of another, any
vitriol, corrosive acid, flammable substance, or caustic chemical of
any nature, with the intent to injure the flesh or disfigure the body
of that person, is punishable by imprisonment in the state prison
for two, three or four years.
As used in this section, "flammable substance" means gasoline,
petroleum products, or flammable liquids with a flashpoint of 150
    degrees Fahrenheit or less.
