    4" assisted opener..any ideas?

The other day I was talking to a police officer friend of mine and he asked if I had any 'good' spring assisted knives in my shop. I in fact do (actually I had my Sog Flash II and Trident on me at the time) and have some in the shop too. I was giong to tell him about the Sogs but he threw me a curve. He wants an assisted opener with a 4" blade. I have talked to knife friends, reps, racked my brain and still can not come up with anything. He carries a Gerber now and I'm not sure what his price range is as he did not say. I would appreciate some thoughts. The biggest I have seen is 3.6"

    Requirements: 4" blade
    Assisted open
    Any blade configuration is ok.
Trying to keep it in the range of about $100 or so.

    Thanks in advance.

according to the site, this is a 4 in assited, but its 200+ dollars

unless hes gonna double his duty blade as a 4 inch ruler, a 3.75 or 3.80 knife isnt gonna matter too much unless his department doesnt allow him to carry something less than 4 inches....

Cold Steel Ti-Lite 4". It's non-assisted, but a couple of hours of practice and it's the same thing. You eventually learn to push your thumb forward on the stud and it shoots right out and locks up solid.

I own the Ti-Lite 4" and, for the price, I'm quite happy with it. I do intend to smooth off a few corners with a Dremel tool.
I went to buy some camouflage pants, but I couldn't find any.

Benchmade may have a few in the 3.75" range. Barrage, Stryker.

    Thanks for all the ideas,

I have considered an Endura wave for him
Have not thought about the Ti-Lite however I did think about the pentagon elite from Sog and the spec elite for that matter.
I have a Hissatsu folder, very heavy and I would not carry it as a duty knife. Not super fond of it. Nice knife, wouldn't stake my life on it.
Thought of ZT too, very nice again pretty heavy but worth suggesting.
Benchmade not out of question just have to get on board as a dealer. I have started the process in the past.

Thanks everyone, anything else would be appreciated.

I'll throw out another point about the endura, it has the ability to move the clip to whichever of the 4 positions you want it it, so that you can set it up for strong or weak side use. Also, if you for some reason fail to deploy it using the wave feature on the draw, there is still the generous thumbhole which you can use. And there are no mechanical bits to break and cause a failure.

Spyderco Military and Police have 4" and 4-3/8" blades respectively. Not spring-assisted, but you can open one just as fast with the Spydie hole.
