Benchmade makes very good production knives. On top of that, the Axis lock is one of the best locks on the market. It's extremely easy to use and very strong. I think you'll notice a signficant difference (fit, finish, steel quality) compared to the average cheap knife.
I have had my benchmade for 7 years and carry it everyday. It is a great knife and all my friends keep asking me for it. I have the auto 5000. Good decision, you will not regret it.
You will find that the Benchmade knife and the whole Benchmade operation is a high quality endeavor. Recently sent back a 13 year old Benchmade for sharpening. They essentially rebuilt the knife and returned it to me in new condition. Cost ?. Nothing. Great company and a great product.Gave in to the Benchmade virus...
