Dummy proof Sharpener that produces results

For the life of me I cannot find a good sharpener that is simple to use and can put a quick razor edge on a knife. If there is a product out there that can accomplish this, please let me know. I have tried those benchmade sharpeners which work OK, not nealry a razor edge, syperdco sharpmaker - I dunno I watch all the vidoes, and I just dont see the results. I tried those cheapy hand held ones. Before I waste more money, does anyone have a very simple but effective sharpener??? At this point, price is not my main concern. I wwould be willing to spend some coin on a simple, quick, effective sharpener. Any ideas??

I like the Lansky or GATCO sharpening systems. The guides hold the hones at exact angles. It's very easy to put an edge on any knife, even serrated ones. I've been using it for years and have no complaints.

I can't say it's quick until you get the initial sharpening done, but the Lansky sharpening system is what I have been using for 20+ years to keep my knives sharp.

I think the Spyderco Sharpmaker does a good job. One of my buddies just got the Chef's Choice. He said it does ok. I will check it out.

Yep, The Sharpmaker works for me. A few swipes on the stones and my knife will shave the hair off a frogs back.

I use the Lansky Diamond system and I'm very happy with it but, I really like the looks of the WORKSHARP after I watched their videos.

One of my friends has this sharpener and it will make any knife scary sharp in about 30 seconds.

I own and have used a multitude of sharpening systems including Lansky and Gatco. None come even close in the quality of construction, customer service and most importantly professional scalpel sharp blades EVERY time in literally seconds. In addition to the easy to follow DVD you can talk to the owner inventor and maker of your EdgePro anytime you have a question on how to get professional quality scalpel sharp edges on any of your blades. Invest the few extra bucks and get the EdgePro2. It will be the very last sharpening system you will ever want. It is what many professional knife sharpeners use. Once you have used it you will see why. Your blades will not only shave hairs they will split them. Get an EdgePro2 you will not regret it.

That said knowing how to sharpen your blades free hand with just a wet stone is a skill well worth developing. Especially in case you are ever away from your knife sharpening system and need to sharpen your blade. Your EdgePro2 will help you with that as well. Though honestly I could never get as fine an edge on any of my blades free hand as I can with my EdgePro2

Lansky or Gatco is the way to go. Not too pricey and they just flat out work! Easy and idiot proof.

I have a Gatco and my knives are SHARP!!!!

I have used a Lansky for years. They work great.... but their is no comparison to this sharpener. It is so easy compared to a Lansky. And a heck of a lot faster.

I will check that one out and see what the reviews are like. Listen, no offense, but are you in any way affiliated with the product and/or company?? I just found your post to be somewhat salesy with all the links and product name drops. No disrespect intended and it's cool if you are affiliated, I just want to know how to assess your opinion.

No not affiliated with them in any way. Just a satisfied user. I may come across like that with products a I like. Thought you wanted the name of a product. Suppose I could of had let you figure out the product name, company and links yourself, was trying to be helpful.

I'd suggest links to some verifiable credible source of reviews on knife sharpeners but that would probably seem like a sales spiel too. Maybe a GATCO or Lansky for you. You'll find lots of great reviews on them, mostly from folks who have not used the product I use.
